I completely agree, feedback is extremely important and the faster you get it the better. Funny about the Altima, my car does the same but it's digital and instead of MPG it has Litres per 100 km (the European equivalent).
If you have a website, a great way t get instant feedback is to allow your customers to rate products or use a poll.
I think users also get a nice feeling if they can express themselves in a way that is not in conflict with their privacy.
