I think its because it was unexpected. The same thing can be true for all form of branding. Keep it simple in a space where all of your competitors are slick and out of theis world . Your brand will stick out simply becuase its not busy. Run an ad with no sound, no color. Launch your site with one word or a phrase. Keep it simple stupid does apply sometime in the ad space.
